suryad Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 I just nLted my system like yesterday and originally the Windows directory size was 546 mb...and then it slowly increased to 802 mb ...all I did were install some of my programs and some hotfixes...and after not installing anything for a while I still see the size of the directory getting larger and larger...now its @ 805 mb...can anyone explain why?
Zxian Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Programs will put certain files in the Windows/system32 directory when installed. Also, hotfixes save their uninstallers in the Windows directory. Enable viewing of hidden and system files to see these directories (They're listed as KBXXXXXX...(insert more stuff here)). You can delete them if you wish, it just means that you won't be able to uninstall the hotfixes.
suryad Posted June 21, 2005 Author Posted June 21, 2005 Ohhh the TEMP directory! I forgot about that! Would you recommend removing the uninstallers? How do I go about doing that?
boooggy Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 u can remove the unistallers but u will not be able to uninstall that programs....
