hello everyone,

when i first got a sata hd i followed the instuctions of installing the drivers...and everything worked fine.

then i started making my unattended cd's

i didn't bother incorporating the sata drivers into the cd's

BUT funny enough i've never had to install them again...i've probably formated and reinstalled window about 6 times and they worked fine

sooo..... i don't understand why people are putting the sata drivers into their cd's

If windows has drivers for your controller, then you'll have

no problems. Otherwise you'll have use the F6 method or

add them to your CD.

that makes a lot of sence...altho i have no service packs on my xp, and the mb is only new
Maybe you're installing onto the PATA controller instead of the SATA controller of your mobo?

can that still happen even tho i only have one hd

the speed of the hd has increased heaps ...is there a way to check ??

thanks for the replys.
