Sonic Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Hi all,Can we force windows to keep drive letter ?In fact, if my usb hdd boot with pc all are okay, but if I turn on the usb hdd later .. the letter isn't correct. So we can force for example the cdrom letter ?Thanks very very much if you have a solution
Yzöwl Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 right click my computer > manage > disk management > right click on usb device and select change drive letters and paths, then just set it to what drive letter you would like. This letter should remain device specific, therefore next time you use it, it should map to that same letter.
Sonic Posted June 13, 2005 Author Posted June 13, 2005 (edited) I have already do that but doesn't work ! when i boot computer whitout usdb disk the optical drive get the usb disk's letter ... if i boot when usb disk is already connected all are okay.Thanks. Edited June 13, 2005 by sonic
Yzöwl Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Do you mean it does that regardless of the letter you assign to it, or are you just assigning the next available one. I would be tempted to try a letter towards the end of the alphabet.
