Katch Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Almost done with my unattended CD bar these last few little bits and pieces. After my installation finishes here is the list of things I still have to do before the system is "how I like it" for a fresh install.Classic start menu enabledDisplay administrative tools in start menuExpand Contol panel in SMExpand Net Cons in SMShow small icons in SMUnlock TaskbarReturn XP Classic ThemeDelete Windows Catalogue and Windows Update from Start MenuClassic Window ViewShow details in My ComputerDisplay contents of system foldersUnhide Protected system filesEnable Status bar in My ComputerRemove My Docs and IE icons from the desktopDisable default sound schemeI'm guessing the bulk of this is gonna be a regfile addition. Any help much appreciated.
durex Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Youre in luck! It just so happens you can find the answers to all of those with just one link!
finkster Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Just a thought - if you have AD just set most of this stuff in GPO - you can configure more or less everthing here - lots of resources from MS...If you dont have this ...then you'll need to run some clean up scripts, which as you say will require reg entries and some wsh/vbs I guess.....I have similar stuff to do but I dont have to worry too much about the "build" after it joins the domain as policies are applied - I'll post my clean up when I write it..FiNkSter
DLF Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 @katchTake a little time to read this thread, it covers a lot of your "to do" list. Its an excellent little utility. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=42693 As for the rest they've all been covered before, just search the forum backpages.
