Boot CD for Media Center?

Recommended Posts

How do i make a boot cd for XP Media Center? I looked at the instructions for making boot cds elsewhere here, but tht was for XP home or Pro, not media Center. Can anyone guide me on this pls! and i ordered the Win XP SP 2 cd from Microsoft. Will that sp2 work with Win XP media center or is it only for home/pro versions? pls reply soon and thanks!

A boot cd for XP Pro will do. The first disk of Media Center Edition = Profesional.

The SP2 cd would work because apart for the media center components it is exactly the same but Media Center Edition has already SP2 integrated so you don't need this cd.

copy 'cmpnents' folder of CD2 to the root of u r DVD root. ie along with the I386 folder.

One Thing to note that WinXP SP2 CD is theoretically the CD1 for MCE 2004 & MCE2005 .

Actually it not

However u can install MCE 2005 with Win SP2 CD

It willnot install plus and sonic components an WMP 10

A SP2 cd install only WMP9 only
