kurt476 Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 what is the best disk space monitor that sits in your system tray and tells you how much space you have left of each drive?p.s. i am talking about freeware if anybudy knows
kurt476 Posted May 22, 2005 Author Posted May 22, 2005 oh and i forgot to say this. make sure there is no spyware integrated to the program or installer thanx.
tguy Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 I have used Norton Systemworks in the past to monitor disk space etc. Why would you want something running constantly in the Taskbar to monitor space. That will cause a lot of unnecessary overhead.Unless you are developing applications or building massive packages I would not recommend cluttering up task manager with a lot of tasks. It will affect your system performance.
bledd Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 desktop sidebarsamurize (takes a LOT of configuration but its worth it)
kurt476 Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 @tguy why would, i tell you why i need to know how much disk space i have left if i'm either downloading software or movies or something@bledd witch sidebar do you have that will show C: , D: , E: , F:, ?
Zxian Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Hey there,AveDesk is another great choice. Very easy on resources and has the drive space right on the drive icon on your desktop. Have a look through the desktop screenshots section for a few of my screenies and you'll have an idea of what's available. The SysStats addon is also capable of reading drive space and displaying it in ways to your liking.Cheers!
kurt476 Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 @Zxian i prefer one in the system tray instead of the desktop so i can see the disk space all the time, then all i need to do is look down at the tray
