I'm running XP Professional with a single user, namely Administrator. There are no other user names since there is no need for them and since security isnt an issue i've left administrator without a password.

I had everything setup so as to go straight to the desktop after booting up. Now after installing VS.NET and a few others, regardless of the fact that the SQL Debugger and ASP.NET users arent actual users, i boot to the welcome screen where Administrator is the only user...

Is there no way to NOT have to go to the welcome screen? I know its a minor issue but the welcome screen is totally unnecessary since there is only ONE actual user. I know i can get rid of the welcome screen by deleteing the other non-user user accounts but they are necessary for programming purposes... so is there any other way?

Please help!

If you go to Control Panel > User Accounts > User Accounts > Change the way users log on or off

De-select "Use the Welcome Screen"

I would STRONGLY recommend on using a password to login, especially if you use the internet! The harder it is for them to get in the better.
