implodium
I know i could just put them in $OEM$\$$ folder, but then i have two issues :- old wallpapers are still present (can't remove them unless relevant .inf's are edited)- new wallpapers must be pointed to for use using some registry hacking technique If i can replace them and edit .inf files accordingly, then i can also put them inCAB form. I guess this method can be applied to fonts as well, but i want only to ADD, notreplace them !
Marthax
You could just create your own desktop background, rename it to bliss.jpg, cab it and replace the one in your I386 folder on you UA cd
TheeBeets
Or even better go to XPCD\$OEM$\$$\Web\Wallpaper and paste wallpapers there and set up your a theme much like this.[Theme]; Recycle Bin[CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\DefaultIcon]full=%SystemRoot%\SYSTEM32\shell32.dll,32empty=%SystemRoot%\SYSTEM32\shell32.dll,31[Control Panel\Desktop]Wallpaper=%ResourceDir%\Themes\[G]Longhorn\Longhorn Rain.jpgTileWallpaper=0WallpaperStyle=2Pattern=ScreenSaveActive=0[VisualStyles]Path=%ResourceDir%\Themes\[G]Longhorn\[G]Longhorn.msstylesColorStyle=NormalColorSize=NormalSize
lwong
How come people don't just use this key?[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop]"Wallpaper"="C:\\WINDOWS\\mywallpaper.bmp"I didn't like the idea of renaming bliss.bmp nor did I like the idea of creating a new theme just to set a wallpaper. Both seemed like roundabout ways. The default hive seems like the most direct way to set the wallpaper and yet I've not read about anyone else using it. Is there some reason not to use it or have I just not come across it?
Marthax
Personally i prefer just creating my own image, cabing it and then drop it on my UA cd. It seems easier than creating registry tweaks. I guess it's up to you, whatever suits your needs.
