Is there any reason to even bother defragging if you're going to ghost after your unattended install?

How come people don't just use this key? [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop] "Wallpaper"="C:\\WINDOWS\\mywallpaper.bmp" I didn't like the idea of renaming bliss.bmp nor did I like the idea of creating a new theme just to set a wallpaper. Both seemed like roundabout ways. The default hive seems like the most direct way to set the wallpaper and yet I've not read about anyone else using it. Is there some reason not to use it or have I just not come across it?
