Vxd error

well i've been getting vxd error like fatal exception has occured in vxd vm(06).well i updated all my audio and video drivers.the error has gone but now sound doesn't play in ne of video clips.i tried using DivX player also but only the video clip plays no sound.what shud i do?

What is your OS? And your hardware? Which specific driver didn't work?

the .vxd file is a driver for windows 95 and 98, from windows 98se on upto windows me you can use the wdm driver with .sys as filename extension.

But in this we discuss only the setup of windows 2k/xp/2k3, in those os only wdm drivers(.sys) are valid.

In Windows 98se you can also use the new wdm driver, so go ahead to the manufactor's site and download the new wdm driver. Then uninstall the old driver in device manager, use "Advanced hardware Editor" to delete the rest registry entries and finally install the new one.
