To get rid of the email addresses when you sign into messenger.

Go to Start/Control Panel

Select User accounts.

Click on your account, in the left column, select Manage My Network Passwords.

Delete/remove the email address of choice.

i'll post a solution on removing that .net crap from the Login eg you have <number> new messages.. but that must wait till morrow

What if i don't want to use TweakXP.

I will not even talk about using .vbs and .exe

Any other solution?

Its not TweakXP shareware program. Its TweakUI made for Microsoft and hosted on Microsoft site.

Unread mail removal

Start/Run/Regedit:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[Your E-Mail Address]. In the right pane modify: Message Count, Change it to 0.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail. In the right pane modify: MessageExpiryDays Change it to 0.

Remove Windows Messenger

Remove Messenger from XP

Start/Run/

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Not using VBS or EXE files can limit you.

User choice

Yeh you can do it that way but easier and faster is to copy and paste the run command instead of fiddling around with te SYSOC.inf file.
