loosing coon. behind a router

Hi all,

I got scolded for posting this post under general, I'm Sorry... I hope i put it now in the right section.

At home I'm behind a netgear router, and i'm VPNning to a remote site(Microsoft VPN)... i get connected and authinticated fine, but after almost 2 minutes, i lose connectivity!!! and in order to get it back is i have to disconnect the VPN and connect again.

I decided to do some troubleshooting, so i found out that if I removed the router and directly connect to the internet with Windows firewall, i don't loose connectivity!!!

What could be the problem? any feedback would be apreciated.

your router must have settings for VPN connection

My linksys router has it.

so configuring your router might just resolve the problem

if it's a netgear, do all the updates they have for your router (firmware)

seems netgear has problems like that occasionally
