kurt476 Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 what kind of tweaks do you recommand for windows xp for video editing if the pc isn't online?
Marsden Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 Get the fastest CPU and the most memory you can afford. If you can't upgrade your CPU spend whatever you have on at least 1.5GB of RAM. More if you can afford it. Video sucks memory like air.
matrix0978 Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 also get at least a 128mb video card. ATI or nVidia is recommended
kurt476 Posted April 22, 2005 Author Posted April 22, 2005 i'm talking about registry tweaks and services that can be disabled
matrix0978 Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 Oh lol aight... Well for services, you may disbale the following-Wireless Zero Config (disable only if your not on a wireless network)-Portable Media Serial Number-Uninterruptible Power Supply-Task Scheduler-Net meeting Remote Desktop
kurt476 Posted April 25, 2005 Author Posted April 25, 2005 thanx anytyhing also i shuld know that slows the pc down while either editing and network connections anything like that?
Takeshi Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Disabling some System Services will not significantly improve system running performance, as the amount of RAM saved is relatively small (maybe 10-30MB). If you have 1G RAM it's not going to matter. It shortens system startup time a little. The most important reason for doing so is for tightening security. If you're not running unnecessary programmes and not connected to the internet while editing video, no special tweaks are really necessary.
