hammermtl Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Hey guysI'm looking for a way to keep track of everything thats been printed from my printer. It's a peer to peer network and the printer is attached to my pc. What i'm looking for is a way to have every file that is sent to the printer made into a pdf or some other digital format and saved in a special folder. I've tried looking through the forums and on google but i haven't found anything that would help.ThanksJosh
purewaveform Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 I dont know of something directly, but I know that you could extend the Alerts, so that when something prints to a file, in a location, then it send it to another printer.
hammermtl Posted April 14, 2005 Author Posted April 14, 2005 I had an idea but I don't know how it would be doneIn the printer preferences there is a list of ports that the printer can use and its on port: usb001. also on the list is my office image writter and adobe pdf printer.it says to select all availible ports and it will use the first availible. Is there a way i can set it to print to all availible and that way it would print to the printer and to pdf? That would be cool.I'm really surprised that i havent found anything about this. I would think that many people would be interested in knowing what their printers are used for.
