lylo Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Ok theres a lil anger out the way first of all! Anyway, I've come across quite possibly the most annoying problem with MSN Messenger 6.2 ever and it is not going away lol. Basically as soon as I open it up and it tries to automatically log me on, it always fails with the error message:Sorry, we could not sign you in because the sign-in name does not exist or your password is incorrect. If you have forgotten your password, please click Help in the main Messenger window, and then click Help Topics for instructions on resetting your password. 0x81000303Now I found a few solutions on the net to get around this. One of them was to simply paste into the 'Run' box: RegSvr32 Softpub.dll and then try again to log on. That didn't work and I still get the same error. Another solution was to enable or re-enable the Cryptographic Services through Administrative Tools. Nope, no luck. The last solution I found was to go into my Internet Explorer options and make sure SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 are enabled under the security section. Nope. Nothing.I KNOW my password and login details are correct. I can access my hotmail with no trouble whatsoever and any web-messengers I find work as well. Whats even more annoying is that I logged on to another user acount on this computer and logged on to MSN Messenger with their details with no trouble either. I can also log on to that other hotmail acount (its my dads, and I only know the details because I set it up for him), on my own user account, but not mine!! Can anybody help please? :angrym:
gav52 Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 remove MSN Messenger 6.2 and upgrade to 7.0 and re-enter your details again - hope that helpsregards, gav
lylo Posted April 9, 2005 Author Posted April 9, 2005 I'll try that out now but from what I've seen of 7.0 I really don't want to install it, it just looks so unbelievably bloated! Lol, thanks for the suggestion though I'll try that now.

lylo Posted April 10, 2005 Author Posted April 10, 2005 Well I installed 7.0 and my problem still occured. Although I did discover that I can still log in if I simply hit the 'login as different user' button than do my details from there. However it wont let me hit 'remember my details' or else I'll still get the error so I'm left with MSN that won't automatically log in.And as for my quick time with playing with 7.0 my advice is stay well clear of it, the amount of crap that does come with it (I might install again soon and try the patches available for it), it might as well be a **** VIRUS you can't get rid of! Stick with 6.2 while you still can, from what I've heard the extra features such as winks and nudges are annoying anyway!
