Unattended Vbs-script

With the default Windows-installation my Windows hangs when I open a folder with avi-files. To prevent this I use 'avipurge.vbs' from Kelly's Corner, but I want to install that silently. Will it work this way?

REG ADD %KEY%\080 /VE /D "Avipurge" /f

REG ADD %KEY%\080 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Software\avipurge.vbs" /f

Don't think it works like that. Reg.exe is a command that edits the registry. Your script will add avipurge.vbs as a value rather than executing the vbs.

But why make it so complicated when all you need to do is to read the vbs, find out what key it edits and directly use reg.exe to do it. (If I remember it deletes the InproServer (?) key so you'd use REG DELETE.)

Or add the key to delete in Regtweaks.reg.

Sure they'll work with adding to Reg but more like this

REG ADD %KEY%\080 /V 1 /D "WScript.exe %CDROM%\Software\avipurge.vbs" /f

it should already be in the system folder

the wscript is located inside the "C:\windows\system32" folder pls change the drive accordingly if you are using dualboot.
