At0mic Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 I need an instant messaging server/client solution for a network. I’ve been using the Exchange 2000 Instant Messenger service with Messenger on the clients but it’s a pig to administer. It has a tendency to fall over after while so I have to keep repairing it. Now more! I’ve been after an alternative to the exchange route.I’ve tried OnDo SIP server with MSN Messenger but OnDo has issues with MSN and it doesn’t work properly (yet?). I can start a MSN whiteboard session but not normal instant messaging.Anyway, does anyone know of a good solution we can use? I found a freeware IM program which uses the NETSEND function but its obviously very limited.Anybody have any ideas? Thanks
Glowy Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 I believe Trillian has it in it's client, it's called rendevouz. I don't know if it's in the free version.TrillianNovell has a messenger in their e-mail system, but since you use microsoft, I doubt you are going to switch OS-es just for LAN-IM
