matrix0978 Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 My dad has a computer he got from work, and he got it from one of his employees, and he cant get the log in password. Would it be easier to reload Windows Xp Professional or to just reformat?
un4given1 Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 IMO I would format and reinstall just so you are working with something fresh. You never know... he might have let his kids use it and there might be 85,000 spyware proggies on there and a whole slew of problems. If you install over top of it that leaves most of the software in tact. Just wipe it.
matrix0978 Posted March 17, 2005 Author Posted March 17, 2005 the only problem is i dont have the computers CD to reformat....?
Takeshi Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 I replied to a thread on Admin password only 1-2 days ago here. Have a look. But I quite agree a clean install is preferable.
