Network Folder Restrictions

how to prohibit users of placing their music and video files (avi,mp3 etc) on their network folders on the server (win2003), tnx

Write an IT policy that prohibits it.

You may want to think about disk quotas and allowing a certain amount of data to be stored by any user.

Not sure if you can stop them storing MP3 etc in the space.

When you write the policy include in it that any files found will be deleted and then run a script every night to delete *.mp3, *.avi etc.

You can't restrict storage by file type.
