Slipstreaming Problem

Hello and warmest regards to all users.

I am trying to slipstream XP SP2 into a genuine version of an OEM XP Pro.

I am using a Win2kPro SP4 box to do this.

If I try to do it manually from the command line, (with various switches set) or with Nlite, I get the same Program Error message every time:-

"Update.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program"

I have tried 2 different copies of both XP and the SP.

Has anyone else experienced this or has anyone any ideas?

I have been through all the MS stuff but can't find any reference to this error (but as usual I have learned a lot!).

Thanks - Les

It would be useful to show your exact commands here.

And I assume you are logged in as admin.

I don't think you can slipstream XP in a Win2k system - if I remember correctly.

Thanks - I did not come across any reference to this problem when searching. I should be able to work around it now

I have just tried the work-around from the link suggested by CY. and it worked first time. Thanks again.
