Hello i would like install BartPE on my Virtual Machine.

To do that...

i launch Nu2menu/System/BartPE Installer v.2

It s open a cmd window

I choose to change the source Path (1) and after I choose the option (5) Install BartPE to C:\BartPE

After that i have the choice to

1) Install BartPe files to c:\BartPE

-Install the files (takes a few minutes)

2) Install Pe-loader in c:\BartPE\boot.ini

- use this if you want to select BartPE in your boot.ini menu

I choose the (2) option and i have this error message:

PEINST: Checking if NT Loader is installed on drive c:\BartPE
PEINST: Checking if boot.ini is on drive c:\BartPE
PEINST: Oops, file "c:\BartPE\ntldr" not found.

PEINST: Aborted

How can i change that ?

thx a lot :)

2 install path and give C: (HDD)

5 and 1 copy file on hard drive

i have that problem also. when i search the target drive i can see a ntldr file but bart won't recognize it . if i copy a "boot.ini" file to the target drive, bartpe will see the ntldr but won't complete 2) Install Pe-loader in c:\BartPE\boot.ini

- use this if you want to select BartPE in your boot.ini menu.

rebooting to the hard drive gets an error complaining about "hal.ddl" missing or corrupted.

i am using winxp sp2 for a source.

did anyone find a fix for this or is it a "bug" in bartpe? :(

i fixed my installation problem. :thumbup

sorry i can't remember where i read it but bartpe formating seems to mess up the mbr.

i repaired it,reformated it{using hard drive's manufactor's tools}, reinstalled bartpe{SKIPPED the format} and reboot.

now all i have to do is get all the programs to run. :(

i used the software that came with my hard drive{western}. it repaired the mbr, formated and activated the disk. i think there is something wrong bartpe formater.

if you get the error about "hal.dll" being corrupt or missing it means your boot sector on your hard drive is bad.
