bober Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 i have that problem also. when i search the target drive i can see a ntldr file but bart won't recognize it . if i copy a "boot.ini" file to the target drive, bartpe will see the ntldr but won't complete 2) Install Pe-loader in c:\BartPE\boot.ini- use this if you want to select BartPE in your boot.ini menu.rebooting to the hard drive gets an error complaining about "hal.ddl" missing or corrupted.i am using winxp sp2 for a source.did anyone find a fix for this or is it a "bug" in bartpe?
bober Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 i fixed my installation problem. sorry i can't remember where i read it but bartpe formating seems to mess up the mbr.i repaired it,reformated it{using hard drive's manufactor's tools}, reinstalled bartpe{SKIPPED the format} and reboot.now all i have to do is get all the programs to run.
boomboommusic Posted April 16, 2005 Author Posted April 16, 2005 Hello guyCould you explain exactly (soft you use, click you click....)It will be very helpfull
bober Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 i used the software that came with my hard drive{western}. it repaired the mbr, formated and activated the disk. i think there is something wrong bartpe formater.if you get the error about "hal.dll" being corrupt or missing it means your boot sector on your hard drive is bad.
