shof515 Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 Do i need to change the motherboard bus speed for the new pentium or can i use the old bus speed settings for the new pentium
puntoMX Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 Why do you ask this in a new treat?Okay, you are upgrading from a PII 450MHz to a PIII 650MHz.Both are 100MHz FSB.Are both CPUs Slot 1? Are you using the same mobo?
shof515 Posted February 27, 2005 Author Posted February 27, 2005 Same MoboBoth are 100mhz and are slot 1and i am upgrading to a P2 400mhz to a P3 650mhzThe main reason why i am wondering,is after looking at the mobo book, they said that each processor has its own bus speed and i need to change it according to the processor
shof515 Posted February 27, 2005 Author Posted February 27, 2005 I dont know,off hand,but i think both P's are both 600EI know the Pentium 3 is a 600E,i forgot what the P2 is,but i am pretty sure it s a 600e
puntoMX Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 Look in the other treath, the 600e question .
shof515 Posted February 27, 2005 Author Posted February 27, 2005 Do i need to change the bus speed on the mobo for the new P?
puntoMX Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 No, but I think your BIOS needs to support the new CPU.
