I tried my XPCD in vm and after it formated, when it is coping files it says that it can not copy 'setup.exe'. Right now I am looking into it but I would like any help (maybe this happened to somebody else before?) would be apreciated.

Well, for an unattended setup, u dont need a setup.exe..

So.... either get a copy of setup.exe from ur windows original cd (hope u have one)

OR

remove all instances of setup.exe from DOSNET.INF or TXTSETUP.SIF...

Thanks, Im trying the first option first.

You said that unattended setup doesnt need stup.exe? Then how come when I skipped it, it messed up my installations?

Usually u dont have any errors in copying files while setup and if u do, then there oughta be errors in ur installation ...

and setup.exe is run from windows ... in case u want to do a manual installation or an upgrade...

even from windows u use winn32.exe located in i386 folder... so practically dont need setup.exe

but wht the heck ... copy it to ur cd :P

I would go with Alanoll's idea. I delete the windows Setup.exe from all of my cd's because I never use it and have had no issues. If you are watching while it is copying files, has the progress bar gone away at the point thatthis error comes up? If so then it has gotten to the pont where it is copying you $oem$ file structure.

alright, you're not understanding what we're saying.

Windows Setup HAS NO SETUP.EXE that it copies over during installation. So either you reported the WRONG file that has the error, OR it's a problem with one of the files you use in $OEM$ in either case, YOU NEED TO FIND OUT WHICH IT IS
