Can't Use Windoze Update Anymore...halp!

Featured Replies

I LOVE the v1.62 SP for Win98SE, but ever since I applied it to my machine, I can no longer DL the newest updates from the Windows Update website.

It returns a "0x800c0008" error, and suggests that the problem might somehow be with my Time/Date settings, which are actually correct.

Any suggestions?? Anywhere I can DL the latest fixes and apply them myself??

Much thanx in advance...

As some one once posted awhile ago, and I copied down (although I did not copy down the orginal poster)...

"If you have problem with Windows Update after installing version 1.6.2, you

must run these commands (from Start-Run):

regsvr32 wintrust.dll

regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

regsvr32 rsaenh.dll "

Hope that works.

no problem HighPingDrifter. you could try out V2.0 RC1 SP for Win98se

which fixes the 'Windows Update' problem found in V1.62 of the Win98se SP.

V2.0 RC1 of the Win98se SP is found at the Softpedia.com downloads site.
