I would not use those power supplies that come with those cheap cases.

I've seen several go up in smoke(lit.), and even fry several other componets on the motherboard.

Since your using a PIII system though, you should be allright. If you ever upgrade to a P4 or an AMD XP... consider buying a new power supply.

I can assembly nearly everything else, and screw everything down, but i just hate wiring up everything

It can’t go wrong, only the connector for some floppy drives can fit both positions when you puss hard, other then that, it should be self leading ;) .

What OS are you going to run? If you have a XP license I would use XP, (although I would use 256MB minimal, 192MB will also run but you have to free up some resources like disabling THEMES and INDEX services).

Then there is no THEME service, that’s good (my XP also looks like 2000 ;) ). Disable INDEX service, that would give you an extra boost...

Did you ever look at nLite?

Not really....what does that do.....

Alll i really care about is just something that willl:

play music, broswe the web, chat, and run programs like dreamweaver, photoshop

Good enough, a new 80GB and bigger drive will give some extra boost, lets say 30% or more when it´s a RAM intensive program.

Do you use Photoshop with large files? Like letter size photos on 200dpi?

IF i did wanna use any large file, which i normally dont work on that much,i will use my current computer which has 512mb of ram
