Networking Problem With My Brothers Pc

Featured Replies

Hi

ever since i built my home network more than a year ago there has always been a problem with my brother's pc been able to use the internet, i've tried different NICs and bought new cables and nothing seems to work.

I was think perhaps with the cable going through a wall(dunno whats in the wall meanin cables etc) TV, Hi-Fi, PS2 and other electronic appliences close to his pc and therefor being close to the cable maybe hes getting interference and maybe an STP cable could possibly work better.

anyone got any solutions?

thanks

Dan

I doubt anything in the walls will be your problem. Are you using your computer as a gateway or do you have a router?

yes i do have a router and no i don't need a new router....it did it with my last one too

Ok you remember the problem i had with the router yesterday well i found a site which offers a few tweaks and tips for the router and so far so good.

thanks

Oh i would get that just for a boost. Probably wont help in our situation but just a tip.

And have you tried to re-do your home network?
