Does anybody know how I can slipstream IE 6 into W2k with SP4 silpstreamed?

Or is there a silent installation option without reboot for IE6? (But would like to know how to slipstream)

Hello freakboy,

Doing a silent installation is simple with just this:

first go to your IE6 setup files folder. then run below

ie6setup.exe /Q:A /R:N

But slip-streaming is far better in the sense that it becomes part of the install, and no wastage of disk space or time after install in setting up IE6SP1. More info for slip-streaming IE6 - LINK.

TommyP's method is peerless, truly a joy watching his work in progress. IE6 slipstreamed, hotfixes slipstreamed, switchless installers installed. I used his method on Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4 and it went off without a hitch, save for two problematic hotfixes. Eh, small potatoes.

@blinkdt - Thanks for the "peerless" comment. Nice to hear it worked for you. Which hotfixes gave you troubles? Maybe I can remedy that issue to make it work better for you. Can you run hfnetchk with the -VV switch and PM me with the details on what's missing?

BTW, I plan on releasing an updated script that slipstreams dx9c in addition to the other updates. I'm just waiting on some feedback from a non-English user on some issues that have and I want to resolve that before posting the new script. It would be nice for all languages to use this script.... Rock on, TommyP! Please ignore my comment re the two hotfixes, everything is fine. Would be hard to retrace my steps at this point, but everything installs flawlessly save for the DX9c issue, which I now install from RunOnceEx, but it sounds like you are all over it. Tried repacking with IExpress together with the /Q:A /R:N switches as per your instructions, no luck as you appear to be aware.

Possiblities:

CMD files (may be implemented a later release of hfslip)

REG files (may be implemented a later release of hfslip)

INF files (may be implemented a later release of hfslip)

I'm on pins and needles. Will these features be available in your next release? Oh, and a simple and sincere "thank you" for all of your hard work.

Edit: almost finished tweaking my disc, did intend to post back here and let folks know that the "2 hotfixes didn't install" issue was a non-issue.

The new version will get posted when FDV gets back to me... within a day. DX9C integration is great and some strange issues were resolved with non-English updates. It should be good for multi-lingual slipstreaming with W2K. The program is also a hidden gem because it works for XP too. BTW, my nlited sourcess folder for w2k+ie6+dx9 slipstreamed is about 110 meg.
