the littleguy Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Uhm.. I've reinstalled windows.. and now my downloads is really slow.I have a 10mbit connection but don't download more than around 40 kbps where I usually download around 600kbps-1mbps. My uploading speed is around 600kbps-1mbps but my downloading speed is crawling even if I'm not uploading..anyone have a clue what this might problem might be or what the solution could be?I reinstalled with SP2 and all hotfixes..
MCT Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 could be the TCP limitation built into XP (theres patches on the net for it)also could be the site your downloading fromcould be the ammount of traffic on your network (if applicable)good luck
the littleguy Posted February 11, 2005 Author Posted February 11, 2005 Tried the TCP limitation patch did not work..The weird thing is that I can upload with full speed but not download!?
jpatto Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 Did you have the same problem before installing SP2?Do you get slow speeds in Safemode with networking? Are you behind a router? if so try restarting the router
bullet Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 You can also try to change your NIC settings to 10 MBFull instead of auto detect. Just go into network connection, right click on local area network then properties. You should then click the configure button for your adapter. Go to the advanced tab and then change the speed & duplex setting.
matrix0978 Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 You could try doing this...http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...40&Product=ISASI told someone to try it and it worked for them..... And i was going to but mine works fine so theres no use in changin it...
