BoardBabe Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 What reg do i need to add/modify to prevent MSN messenger today and MSN messenger 7 to popup at startup?
prathapml Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 To cut out the "load at startup", you just need to remove it from startup tree in registry - take a look at regtweaks file.To prevent messenger today, you will need to take a regshot before and after to find which key does it.
bart of borg Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 What reg do i need to add/modify to prevent MSN messenger today and MSN messenger 7 to popup at startup?I use this....TASKKILL /F /IM msnmsgr.exe
muiz Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 TASKKILL /F /IM msnmsgr.exe Thats during install, not at start up
esas Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 Hi!1. Apply all your settings in messenger.2. export Appsettings under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger3. Run the regfile during install to apply your personal settings
BoardBabe Posted February 21, 2005 Author Posted February 21, 2005 This does not work. Seems it is userbased and unique reg keys?
warrior1109 Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 What reg do i need to add/modify to prevent MSN messenger today and MSN messenger 7 to popup at startup?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I use this to stop messnger running at startup;[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]"msnmsgr"=-The display msn today, so far as I can tell, can only be disabled after a user has signed in, even then, it is user specific. So when a differnt username is used, it will pop up again on first sign in.
