hi! :) good day! to all hir specially to the administrator

i just wan't to share this to all orginally from k-otic

If you have a good Network Card you can force Windows to do all the calculations at the Network Card instead of on your Processor.

Here is Howto

First load up regedit (start -> run then type regedit and press ok).

>From there follow this path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> Services -> Tcpip -> Parameters

and find/create the DisableTaskoffload DWORD value. Set its value to 0 then save and reboot.

Once that's done WindowsXP / 2000 will use your NIC's processing power to handle any network tasks instead of the main processor

How can you tell if such a change can be handled by your NIC? Do standard Realtek 8139C cards handle that?

Would the speed of the calculations be sufficient on the NIC? Would it be wise to makes these changes on a server? Is there a noticeable difference between the performance of the calulations on the NIC verses the CPU? In other words, would your network data transfer be affected possitively or negatively by such a change?

I have so many questions... lol.
