bfc_xxx Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 when i try to update windows from the microsoft update page i get this error in internet explorer:Line:72Char:3Error:Automation Server Can't create objectCode:0Url: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/I tried everything but I can't fix it.
ripken204 Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 just a guess, but check your internet security settings and put them on the medium level
horsecharles Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 and while you sort that out, here're a couple of alternatives: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=38244
bfc_xxx Posted February 3, 2005 Author Posted February 3, 2005 security settings are on medium level but no go!
bfc_xxx Posted February 3, 2005 Author Posted February 3, 2005 Yes Windows XP service pack 2.Is there any other program to check the new updates like windows update page, so I can do the same thing without internet explorer?
horsecharles Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 yes, bfc-- i put it up in the link above-- BigFix.... check it out.
bfc_xxx Posted February 3, 2005 Author Posted February 3, 2005 ok thank you but it seems that bigfix doesn't find for my pc that anything is missing. maybe everything is up to date!! thank you
horsecharles Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 Maybe... did you click subscribe button & select winxp, fixlet central & bigfix tech suport modules? btw it'll also get your office updates......
bfc_xxx Posted February 6, 2005 Author Posted February 6, 2005 Also there is Shavlik HFNetChk.exe™ 3.86 utility that is doing the same job!
horsecharles Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 some ideas:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319585/EN-US/http://members.bellatlantic.net/~mrscary/winupfaq.htmhttp://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/Interesting app.......You could also run the autopatcher-- just got updated-- tell it to overinstall / answer yes at every file replace prompt: this may repair any damaged/corrupted file causing a problem..........
bfc_xxx Posted February 7, 2005 Author Posted February 7, 2005 problem not solved. Today I'll try reinstall service pack+autopatcher
bfc_xxx Posted February 7, 2005 Author Posted February 7, 2005 Using this link now can download the latest updates but I still get errors on the page:http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5co...t.aspx?ln=en-us
horsecharles Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 good luck-- service pack is included in latest autopatcher5 released days ago....
