What is the limitation for SoundForge?

Hi!

I need to record 4 hours of sound using SoundForge. Is there any kind of time limitations to do this or the only one is the Hard Drive's size?

What is the best way to make sure everything will be ok.No crashes,no application closing?

Memory?Harddrive?Processor?

Thank you! :thumbup

I'm not all too sure about SoundForge itself... I've never tried to make files that are four hours long...

As for not crashing, I'd say disconnect from the internet, and disable EVERYTHING that you don't need. Experiment will a smaller file to see if all goes well during recording, disabling programs and services one at a time.

Things that you should disable are:

Anti-Virus

Firewall

Anti-Spyware (if you have any)

Services (have a look at Black Viper's site for more info)

Any other programs that you don't need.

If all goes well, you should have at most 15 processes running when you start SoundForge up (look in Task Manager, under processes tab).

I don't think that processor or hard drive speeds are going to matter all that much. Just make sure that you have good RAM with no bad addresses and you should be good to go.

Hope this helps!
