Hosting your own web server..

ThA_FiLeR said they have 8 computers, so they need something more than basic (not only http static pages), with some databases.

so either apache (free) or IIS (comes with windows NT for free).

and my experiance says that IIS is easier than apache. apache is Complicated, need to change configs by manually editing conf files.

Windows NT 4 or 2000 will do the job easily and quickly.

This was a very long time ago.. but I got something to work, but my internet was too slow and I still have my payed hosting which I still use... And my FTP for hosting other type things..

EDIT: ohh this was about that company, they are currently still using their old host untill I make them their design...

Ime running apache + php + mysql on my machine ^^

Its Runs Great, No probs.

Best to use apache 3 on a windows machine.

Search google. It has good toturials to configure Apache, MySQL and PHP.
