totoymola Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Hi. I want to know which file exactly lunches the "Press any key to boot from CD..." screen. And after pressing any key, which file triggers the initialization of the Text Setup mode? Is there a way to edit that? Because I want a different program (or batch file) to be executed when I hit a key.
Cartoonite Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 I believe it is bootfix.bin, located in the I386 folder. I think it is editable, but there may be stipulations on it. I seem to recall prathapml posting in another thread somewhere that if you were to edit that file you must make sure it stays exactly the same size.Don't quote me on any of this, though. I'm not 100% sure on any of it.
totoymola Posted January 19, 2005 Author Posted January 19, 2005 Yeah. I know that thread. I even posted there. But what I want to know is, which program is launched when I press a key. And how can I change that.
Alanoll Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 syssetup.dll (i think)Happy now? syssetup controls all of setup.
totoymola Posted January 19, 2005 Author Posted January 19, 2005 Hahaha! I'm gonna try it. Thanks for the info.
buletov Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Yeah. I know that thread. I even posted there. But what I want to know is, which program is launched when I press a key. And how can I change that. it's not a program, it a setupldr.bin in I386 folder
Martin Zugec Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 U can also try Jo.sys from Bart... Same functionality
Martin Zugec Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 BTW if the mean of this is "boss key", then I would recommend using AutoIt functionality instead
