:hello: where do i create the html file? I pasted the image in word and saved it as an html file and it did not work. Do you have another way of doing it?

maybe i am doing something wrong...

WinxpPRO

go to display properties

desktop

customize desktop

"web" tab

click new

where it says to add a webpage or pic.... click browse and select my gif image (either as filename.gif OR filename.htm).

click ok

make sure the path to the gif file is checked

click ok to close

ok to close display properties

nothing :(

Is there an additional step to this?

Is "play animations in web pages" enabled in your IE options?

well i'll be damned....that was it :) Unfortunately a small 600kb gif just threw my cpu process 100 percent! i guess active desktop does suck!
