The system i'm building is for a friend so money is not an object.

Currently i'm looking at a 3.4GHz HT with 2 gig via 4 chip ddr2 ram at 533 mhz

I'm going to be using a 2x120gb sata stripe setup with a 200gb back up volume.

This is all going on the intel 925XCV board.

(any alternate build suggestions welcomed)

ati is not in the right path at the moment so nvidia is taking the lead

if i need to choose i would get nvidia but this is not a good year to buy a pc, there are a lot of improvements and new technologies coming on a short-medium future. i would wait for SLI cards

ps: i'm an ati-guy :)

i'd have to agree... 2005 is projected to be a transition year more than anything else. I'm also a big fan of ATI, but I'd wait til SLI is really in full swing. That would give you a better upgrade path than what's out now.
