Start Bar and Desktop icons dont show

just 30 min ago i turned on my comp and the Start Bar and Desktop icons dont show, i restarted my comp like 10 times and the same thing happened, then i logged off and relogged in and my comp works, but once i restarted again my Start Bar and Desktop icons dont show and if i log out and relogin it works, can anyone help me?

Try to hit ctrl+alt+delete... bring up the task manager and then goto File.. and run EXPLORER. That should do the trick..enough to get you going and troubleshoot.

do u have to login when you start up the computer? if not make it so that you do, b/c if ur saying that you have to logoff then log back on to make it work, then this might work

tried that and same thing happened. like when i go to the login screen right when i turn on comp and i click on one of the accounts it goes in and same thing happens. then i run task manager and relogin, then it works.

BUMP sorry if this is spam because im trying to get this problem solved real quickly and its not my computer, im borrowing my friends and i think he might be really mad about this. i ran a scan with norton and nothing detected.

BUMP hehe, and also on the other account i made on this comp same thing happens.

so you "did" make a account!

delete the account and see what happens

Please post information on what this registry keys contain:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

and

what's in the startup folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

According to this problem i suspect that maybe you have a startup script in local computer policy which applies only with starting/restarting the computer and not with logoff/logon...

You're loaded with spyware $ adware..

Please scan your system with at least Spybot S&D and Adaware, or Pest patrol..

Or you can use new M$ antispyware program which is currently beta and its free 'till the 31.07.2005--think it's very good...
