I recently purchased a Palm One Tungsten E handheld. I have found out that this unit will not do what I envisioned it to do unless I buy a lot of extra operating systems and applications. I have an older Desktop PC using Win 98 or Me. ( I have both OS's) I wanted my handheld to use for spreadheet functions, ebooks, media (audio, video, pictures, etc.) calendar, appts. and calculator.

My PalmOne requires Office and Outlook applications which require a newer version of Windows for operation i.e. XP or newer on my PC.

My question is: Is there a handheld out there that will work with my present OS system Win98 or Me) and will work with my Works applications instead of Word and Office Applications? The PalmOne handheld Tungsten E will do everything I need except the spreadsheet functions which I would really like to use. It would save me lots of valuable time.
