a06lp
Ok, just finished my lastest real-world test.Everything went fine, except for one problem. When installing my LimeWire 4.2.6 (using a MSI), I get the following error:"The InstallScript Engine is missing from this machine. If available, please run is script.msi, or contact your support personnel for further assistance."Does anyone know what is causing this error, and how would I fix it?I install LimeWire using this code:msiexec.exe /qb /i %cdrom%\\Applications\\limewire\\LimeWirePro426.msiAlso, FYI, I call a installed a number of other MSI's without problem. Also, FYI, I uninstalled LimeWire and reinstalled it using the above installation code (before I reformatted), and it WORKED. so it's not the msi itself. however, it did NOT work following my latest format/clean-installation...what's going on? staples
look to see if included in the install there is a iiscript.msi. If there is install that first. then you can install your other msi but add the following to the msi install line "iisetupdriven=true" without the quotes. bucketbuster
Have you tried another version of Limewire?
a06lp
the version i am using is an msi edited by someone (i forgot who) so that it is truly silent. the standard limewire is not silent, hence the need for this...[edit]found the original post: herethis is the guy who gave me the msi. vcBlackBox
anyone else ever have this prob? Not this particular problem, but a very similiar problem just happen to me when I tried to install Creative THX Console which uses Installshield. It complained about the InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be installed. The system cannot find the file specified. It worked earlier in my UA cd but because I tried to move it closer to the beginning of the install process, it didn't work anymore. Before I was installing it after Kerio Personal Firewall which happens to have a version of the IsScript engine.I think you need to get the latest version of the IsScript engine and have it install before you install the Limewire MSI.You can try this linkMaybe that will fix your problem. a06lp
if anyone else has this problem, the solution was, indeed, to install "isscript.msi" first. (although, the right version is needed. )thanks for all your help.
