XtremeMaC Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 hi therei had not made use of "send to" before, but nowadays i need it.but my problem is i want to move my files instead of copying.how can I accomplish this? is there an alternative tool?thanks
un4given1 Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Well, you could always Right click and hold and drag the file. When you drop it you will get a menu that allows you to copy or move it.
MHz Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Try CMenuExtender. Get it here. Cannot remember if it has the move option.
XtremeMaC Posted January 6, 2005 Author Posted January 6, 2005 ow right, that extender.. i'll try it, i didn't like it the first time i saw it when i used ryanvm's update pack bc it added billions of options in the context menu. anyways i'll try thanks
Dahi Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Holding the Shift key down when you select the Sendto target will move the selected files instead of copying them.
Whampoom Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Add "copy/move to" in the context menu [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Copy To]@="{C2FBB630-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}"[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Move To]@="{C2FBB631-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}"
XtremeMaC Posted January 8, 2005 Author Posted January 8, 2005 thanks but i prefer the send to since i've set my folder in there, selecting move to or copy to is slow, i've to browse through the folders.
SiMoNsAyS Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 i mostly use drag&drop: ctrl+drag will copy the file, shift+drag will move the file and alt+drag will create a shortcut.another tip similar is selecting files with ctrl or shift pressed...
