Aaron Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 Does SP2 affect corporate versions of XP? The ones that do not require activation? Also someone already using a version of XP is not required to download SP2 so what about the people who choose not too download it?SP2 isn't even in the making yet (IIRC) just pre-sp2 hotfixes. So its purely speculation whether it will have a stronger protection against piracy. SP1 installed and slipstreamed fine with XP Corporate.
gamehead200 Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 Maybe we won't even have to crack it. Some people might be able to slipstream SP2 into XP onto a CD. Would this be possible?
Guest FurryStriker Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 I payed for my XP.......... no worries about SP2 problems
FthrJACK Posted October 28, 2002 Author Posted October 28, 2002 gamehead.. yeah same way i slipstreamed sp1 but... it still has the same effect on your operating system.
gamehead200 Posted November 5, 2002 Posted November 5, 2002 FthrJACK, how? If they DO have the keygen, then no one (with the corp. copies) would be able to install it since they would probably add all the pirated keys to SP2 so that it wouldn't accept them. But, again, who gives a ****, as long as you install all the hotfixes, aren't you considered to have SP2?
expi Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 dont forget that windows xp sold copies more then any operating system
FthrJACK Posted November 7, 2002 Author Posted November 7, 2002 gamehead, they would have to add a whole lot of data for the CD checking. all the keygen does is generate keys and tests if they work.. if the checksum is right the key is valid.. even if its not in microsofts database of cd keys, they will know every key they have released ever for all versions of XP, and probably 2k as well.to block all generated keys they will have to include some measure to check the generated key against the ms database. (in other words forced activation on all copies of XP be they corp or not)it wont be locked, well i SERIOUSLY doubt it, i just wanted to know what people thought on the subject even if it does lock you out or something.. it will be hours rather than days or months before someone finds a way to circumvent it, as always happens.if it can be written it can be cracked.
Neo - Matrix Posted November 9, 2002 Posted November 9, 2002 It will be cracked before it is out.... That's True...They (Crackers) cracks everything "before it is out." w00t M$ is M$ everytime... When M$ find something uncreackable (is this right... my english is not as good as i want)... The World will see Linus (Linux Father) Kissing Gates foot. :user
