Hi there

I was wondering if there were any car tuning maniacs out there who can help me :)

I frankly don't understand what to do with:

(Front & Rear = F&R)

F&R Springs

F&R Shocks

F&R Sway Bar

also is increasing the downforce always a good thing? either way what could be the optimum level?

also even if i play with those above I've no idea on:

where ECU is more efficient at, i mean on which RPM?

this also goes for Turbo

and which setting is good for Nitro?

well thank u, who ever answers this will be helping me both in the game and in the real life :D

I'm not the ultimate tuning freak, but I heard some things from all the racing events on Eurosport, etc.

F&R: For example, if you choose a softer adjustment to the rear, it will drift like hell, so be careful and try to keep a good balance.

Downforce: According to all the Formula 1 guys, it depends on the wings. For example you need a whole lot of downforce to keep your car safe in corners to prevent uncontrolled movement.

ECU & Turbo: Depends on what you wanna do. The lower the RPM, the better your acceleration will be. The higher the RPM, the higher you Top-Speed. B)

Nitro: If you like to have one huge power boost, adjust it towards power. This is good if you need some more hp at the on of a drag race.

Hope this wasn't all crap that I told you. Everyone who has more knowledge about this topic, please post!!! :hello:

This may not be as noticable in NFS:UG2 (I haven't played it thoroughly)

As for downforce, the more you have, the more grip you will have at higher speeds. However, the more downforce you have the more drag you will have on your car. Therefore, very high downforce is useful in circuits where you have relatively high-speed corners. If you have a circuit that deals with sharp corners and straightaways, then lower the downforce. This is the way that I set up my cars in GT3:A-Spec, and the general concept is the same for all racing games (at least the realiztic ones).

i see so i should probably decrease the downforce on street X where there are many sharp corners

how about the shock sway and springs how do u think they should be on a short track where there are many sharp corners.

thanks :D

those are really wierd screen captures, did u use a filter or something??

Nope. As I said this was my xbox, therefore I used my digital camera to take a picture of my TV.
