weist123 Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 i have a windows PE CD , it can run windows XP in CD .when it boots , this boot image exists :how can i fix the message "windows PE(XP) tools box booting ..." ?any system files can be fixed ?
likuidkewl Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 I have never seen that boot screen for PE, but the normal " Loading Windows Preinstallation Enviroment " screen can be changed in the txtsetup.sif file.
weist123 Posted December 2, 2004 Author Posted December 2, 2004 THANK YOU A LOT !! JUST THAT FILE IN CD:\PEXP\txtsetup.sif :loaderprompt="Windows PE(XP) Tools Box Booting ..."I FOUND IT !
JPE Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 the normal " Loading Windows Preinstallation Enviroment " screen can be changed in the txtsetup.sif file.I just tried that and it didn't change it. Is there anywhere else that string is saved?-JPE
likuidkewl Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 You need to do it after you build your CD I use the temp dir. And then edit the txtsetup.sif there.
jawwen Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 The better way (IMHO) is to change it in the config.inf file before building the winpe image (mkimg.cmd) rather than changing default windows installation files...the mkimg.cmd command (or bldhives.exe more correctly) are using the inf-files when compiling the winpe registry.regardsJohan
likuidkewl Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Don't agree with you on that, due to the fact if you do so it is unsupported by microsoft and they inform you in the OEM website to use a temp dir and the oscdimg.
