[question]glass effect (like the royale buttons)

how do I make that glassed-over effect like in many buttons seen with microsoft programs, and many of your avatars... Oh, and in the Royale theme. How do you do it? More specifically, I'm making an xbox theme for windows, and I need to know how to do this in any color.
