Recommended Posts

posted here last night Need Help making Restore CD's to Normal CD's....

and after spening all day tinkering with files and tryying over and over with no success.. I ask this question..

also.. sorry if i post this on the wrong forum.. its kinda unattended cause i want it to be unattended batch job lol.

How hard would making a Batch File on a CD to uninstall programs that are auto installed be? I'm guessing this is gonna be my way of doing my "unattended" Windows XP Home CD...

do programs have the equivlent to /silent for uninstallers? or am i gonna have to do it all manually...?

you could AutoIT it.

Some programs allow for silent installation, like Windows Installer and I believe InstallShield. Windows Installer..... if you have the original MSI

msiexec.exe /u (MSI) /qb

should make it silent. I'm not sure for InstallShield.

lots of apps have uninstallers... as many as have silent installers.

SOME of which are even listed in the registry in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall key

a /S or /Q is usually sufficient for many of them to be silent...
