Ihave a OEM version of mce 2005. When installing the program on a PC with XP home allready on it- the media functions don't active. What can one do?

? are you trying to upgrade XP Home to XP MCE? That wont work.

Can you check System Properties (right-click on My Computer choose Properties) and tell us what it says. On the General tab Does it say Media Center Edition?

Do you have this folder: C:\WINDOWS\ehome ?

MCE also creates shortcuts in the start menu: Accessories\Media Center

-Thanks for answering!

I have a folder called C:\WINDOWS\ehome

i don't have Accessories\Media Center

and when i look at system properties it says WIN XP Pro 2002.

Any idea on how to get my media functions going?

Are you using the product key provided with the MCE 2005 media? If not - you will wind up with Windows XP Professional - which you have just described.
