Cant watch streaming video

On any build of media player i havent been able to watch streaming movies for ages, i just formatted and its still the same, i just get "connecting..." in the status bar all the time, yet i can watch streaming movies with quicktime or realplayer.

i have a 1024/256 line so its not that either, i have to right click and "save target as.." to be able to watch stuff, anyone have any ideas? they play fine in IE media window. only thing i can think of is maybe firewall settings, tho i have removed all media players rules and re allowed them again as it asks to connect, or maybe its another players settings confusing it over which is the default player, i dunno...

any ideas?

i think i have the same problem as you if i try to watch a stream with WMP it says connecting for 5minutes b4 it starts streaming its been like this for about 2months :S

maybe its the isp cache?

i dont know if other media programs accept streams okay for you i wouldnt of thought it was the cache?

could be to do with our isp though

Do you have WMP 9? If you do, it might still have some bugs in it...
