How to draw on an image ?

what i am trying to do is load an image into ANY image program and then draw on it or mark out a section...like this

i tried photofiltre but i cannot figure it out. anyone with ideas and EASY instructions please reply. thanx

use paint it comes with windows (start > run > mspaint)

i think he wants to automate the labeling process?

so select and number the selection? (unfortunatelly i don't have any apps to do it automatically)

thankz. what i was trying to do was simple, but i though irfanview would allow it ,but no !. anyway, mspaint works brilliant ! see >
