a06lp
Hmm...I was installing my latest real-world test of my XPCD, and for a reason unknown to me, all of a sudden, my quicklaunch was empty. The usualy "Internet Explorer" and "Show Desktop" icons weren't there. The only thing I can think of is that windows started in Windows Classic theme...probably becuase this version added the installation of "Energy Blue" theme. (as part of WPI installer). however, the Energy Blue theme wasn't selected, and i guess for osme strange reason this caused classic to be selected?but why arent the quicklaunch icons there? Wedge1
Not sure how to make it work properly for a silent install...but if you need those icons simply right-click the task-bar, go to "tool bars", then check mark "Quick launch" and the icons will appear. a06lp
actually, not.for some reason, in this strange case, quicklaunch IS there, but there's nothing in it. (already checked)
Wedge1
Well, in that case create shortcuts on your desktop and drag them into the quick-launch tool bar. As for the quick-launch desktop icon:Open Notepad and enter the following text[shell]Command=2IconFile=explorer.exe,3[Taskbar]Command=ToggleDesktopSave the new file as Show Desktop.scf then drag and drop the icon on the Quick Launch bar or whatever location you want the shortcut to appear. a06lp
i think you are misunderstanding me.i dont want a way to manually add them.i want to know why they arent there now, and what changed so i can have them there, by default, like they used to be. Wedge1
Oh, ok, sorry. I thought you were also wanting a way to add it back (in addition to learning how to do an unattended install where they are not deleted).
BoardBabe
I fixed this problem in my cleanup file and placed the two missing shortcuts on my CD.COPY /Y "%CDROM%\Quick Launch\" "%USERPROFILE%\Programdata\Microsoft\internet explorer\Quick Launch"

a06lp
this problem JUST started for me, in my last build. i dont know if it was a fluke, or if it had something to do with the changes i made.the only change i can think of that would affect this is that i installed the royale theme, but it didnt apply, only installed. the windows classic theme applied.do you install any themes?
